Burning rubber smell from back of car, while just driving on ECO.

My 2019 also suffers the burning rubber smell, seems to be when I use the charge button more than anything else. Does seem to come from the left rear though so could well be something rubber close to the exhaust. Thats my best guess. Could be a rubber exhaust hanger? I can't say I ever smell it...

    Smart meter

Am looking to possibly change electricity supplier to Octopus and take their Octopus Go tariff, 8.5p 12.30am to 5am to charge the PHEV. The other rates are similar to what I am already paying. Issue I have is I am not sure a smart meter would work at my property as we do not have a decent...

    On board charger revving high

Have used the Charge button hundreds of times within my 5 years of ownership and it has never over revved like this previously. Turning the heating on or off does not affect it. The rev counter remains on idle whilst this happens. Its an odd one. Going to book it in next week for the annual...

    On board charger revving high

The onboard generator (engine) ie the self charge button over revs the engine when activated. Never had this before, usually quite quiet. Revs really high. Turn the charge button off, engine drops to idle. This is with a half full battery. Only began doing this the past few days. I have used...

    On board charger revving high

Noticed this morning when stuck in traffic and in Charge mode the onboard charger began to rev very high. I have never had it do this before in the 5 years of ownership. Not the engine itself but the charger. Anyone else experienced this? This was at standstill, not the engine itself.

    2019 2.4 heater fail

I have a heater again!!!! Just had the car delivered back from Premier Mitsubishi in Hyde and the heaters been repaired. They advise the filters were blocked and its had another coolant flush. They also advise if it happens again it may need a 4 way valve and/or a heater pump. I am pleased with...

    2019 2.4 heater fail

I rang the local ish mitsubishi service agent earlier and have managed to book the car in on Monday. I will let you know how I get on. The lady on service reception was very familiar with this issue so fingers crossed. In the meantime, for those of you struggling with the same issue, check...

    2019 2.4 heater fail

Just double checked the electric pre heater by sitting in the car. The electric heater is warming the vehicle so can only imagine the thermostat needle is sticky in the 4 way valve. In my understanding once the engine is warm the electric heater shuts off, the thermostat opens up the hot water...

    2019 2.4 heater fail

So, JCT fixed the heater under warranty after some persuasion back in March 2023. Not sure what they did though. Guess what, heaters naff again (December 2024). Seems to heat up ok pre warming with the app, then can be lukewarm and sometimes plain cold when driving no matter how long the engine...

    Heating not working

Similar issues with mine, again. I have the 2.4 late 2018 model. I have had this problem before and the dealer in the UK flushed and cleaned the system. They wanted several hundred pounds until I argued it was still under warranty. Now I am out of warranty and the issue has started again...

    2019 2.4 heater fail

Thanks littlescrote. I rang the mitsubishi garage (jct600) to book the car in under warranty. I was informed on the phone that the heater failure is not a warranty item! Obviously we are going to have issues. After reading other issues and watching a few videos I am thinking the thermostat...

    2019 2.4 heater fail

Nobody had this before? Its a strange one. Checked the coolant, all ok. No heat from either the electric pre heat using the app or running the engine in charge or save mode. Just blows cold air no matter what....

Burning rubber smell from rear or Vehicle when in charge setting.

Really? Mine ALWAYS smells of burning rubber when driven in charge mode, always has. I am pretty sure its not rubber from the tyre hitting the exhaust, we are not driving F1 cars. It must be something else.

    2019 2.4 heater fail

Hi all, I have a 2019 2.4 and the heater failed this morning, just blowing cold air no matter what setting I try. It was in for service December and when it came back I could hear a slight noise from the heater fan which was not there before. 2 months later, only blowing cold air and I don't...

    electric v petrol

Yep, its all dependant on the possibility of a cap on electricity for me now. If not I may as well forget plugging it in. I live in a hilly area and it chomps through the electric charge so I never get a good return. Never thought I would be better filling with petrol than plugging in when I...

    electric v petrol

So my 2019 2.4 Phev has a 13.8kw battery. My electricity is going up to 51.33p per unit as of 1st October EDF (not including the standing charge). Unleaded is around £7.50 gallon. Are my sums correct that It will now cost over £7 to put a full charge in for a realistic 25 miles? Are we now...

UK Tow ball and electrics fitment

Hi All, I have had a good read and search on the forum but am still confused as to which way to go with a tow ball. I am looking to fit a Thule Bike carrier so need a ball to suit and electrics. Anyone have any links to a cheap self fit kit please? I am not overly worried...

    Towing a caravan

I can't say I have ever seen an orange engine light on my dash and mine is exactly the same as yours? I would have thought that meant you had an issue? I don't think I would tow in charge mode either as you are asking the engine for all its got all the time? Just my thoughts, lets see what...

    Cycle carrier on the boot/trunk

Any cheaper links for towball fitment? I would need to use plug in wiring too to avoid losing the warranty on the company car.
