UK Rear Brake Caliper Safety Recall

I went in for a 25k mile service in July on my 2014 3H, and they replaced both rear callipers, I'd not had any recalls. They called it an "upgrade", not a Safety Recall...... !

    Watchdog SOC in Battery History

Thanks GreyBigFoot From the FAQs I see: Battery cards are generated only when a change is observed by the App. Unless a change is detected no card is generated. Does that mean a change will only be observed if WatchDog is connected while charging ? The last card on 12th June is Red, as I...

    Predicted Charging Time display

You are absolutely correct. My only excuse is that in the two years I've had the PHEV, I've never had to cycle the pages to get that display. It's always been unlock the car - plug in - open the door - read the display. Weird. Thanks Michael

    Predicted Charging Time display

Hi All My 2014 PHEV used to display the Predicted Charging Time in HH:MM on the dash when I opened the driver's door. And would display --:-- when it was almost fully charged. After a recent Mitsu Service, it no longer does that. I started charging from nearly empty, about 2 miles left on...

    Watchdog SOC in Battery History

Hi All I can't get Watchdog to display the latest charge in Battery History, nearly always it's an earlier date. I charged on the 21st June, but latest shown is 12th June. I've sometimes been able to show the latest, but I'm not sure how ! Thanks Michael

    MG battery factory

The proposed factory in Wales never reached fruition, it may now be built in Northumberland: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology-news/northumberland-site-secured-uks-first-ev-battery-gigafactory Michael

Auxiliary battery pack to add a little EV range

Tempted to get a i-miev for the wife. They were sold in EU as Mitsu, and Citroen C1 and Peugeot ion as well. 50 miles a charge would be twice as much as she needs.

charging at public charge points, what cable do i need?

I bought a Type 1 to Type 2 cable so I could charge for free at the local swimming pool. The Type 1 end goes in the car, the other end in the EVSE. If you can readily charge for free then worth it in the long run. Just for fun I once did a ChaDeMo charge at IKEA, but that's the limit of my...

Auxiliary battery pack to add a little EV range

My early PHEV has about 9KWh capacity for an approx 25 mile range. So you need about 3.6KWh capacity for 10 miles. Ideally 400V output so you can feed into the CHAdeMo socket. Custom interface and cabling. Maybe £3000 ? A gallon of petrol works for me too.

Burning smell, loss if battery, return car?

I agree with Daixiwen. The fully charged range on the Guessometer seems too low, and the rapid discharge is not usual. Could you tell that the heater was on when you turned it on ?

How to siphon fuel from 2015 PHEV

Filled the PHEV up at the start of Lock Down here in anticipation of fuel shortages, which didn't happen. 3 months later I got the warning message on the dash indicating the fuel may be stale. Tried to find how to drain the tank Tried siphoning Decided there was a anti-siphon grid in the...

MPG/ l/100km on long journey using charge button

You can run on B0, and only use higher B occasionally. Or run B5 all the time with your eyes glued to the dial. But perhaps the difference is that I'm located in rolling countryside, with villages 10 miles apart.

    Green plates

On gov.uk there are many articles on green number plates, but they do not specify the types of vehicles that can carry them, only "zero emission vehicles". I take that to mean that PHEVs and HEVs are not eligible.

MPG/ l/100km on long journey using charge button

I'm surprised that use of the B0 to B5 paddles hasn't been mentioned. The most efficient way to save charge is to not use it. I run in B0 most of the time. The car is heavy and you'd be surprised how many "flat" roads turn out to be sloping, giving many hundreds of metres of coasting. More...

Charging point door not remaining close

On my 2013 there is a horizontal spring-loaded catch in grey plastic. It should easily retract and extend when you push it in with your finger. If not, lube with a small amount of furniture polish and then exercise with your finger until it moves freely. If that is okay then check the latch on...
