    Charging under lockdown

All I can say is that my PHEV is still broadcasting its SSID after 4 days without use (and it's been 3 years since I did the 'multiple presses' to connect a new device). I've no plans to disable the useful WiFi app to save a couple of Watt power drain.

    Charging under lockdown

It's conceivable there are differences in the UK implementation, but the multiple key presses you describe instructs the car's computer to accept a new connection, and (as far as I can tell) WiFi is always on even before this procedure has been done (though I obviously can't go back in time to...

    Charging under lockdown

Won't the WiFi always be on, continually broadcasting (10 times a second) the car's SSID? The power draw should only be a few watts.

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

Thanks greendwarf, I filled up 19th March and haven't used a drop since, so if nothing changes before mid-June (unlikely in my personal view, I don't think the current UK lockdown can continue for another 6 weeks, whatever the epidemiologists say) I may have to resort to the fuse trick...

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

Thanks HHL. But I'm really trying to find out how to stop the warning from triggering, Would a single, short run of the engine during a 90-day period be enough?

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

I'm in much the same position, STS134. Does anyone know whether the message is triggered only if there has been absolutely zero use of the ICE? Would a single short engine start resulting from an over-enthusiastic use of accelerator be sufficient to prevent its display?

    Clock weirdness

Thanks greendwarf, that does seem to have been the problem. I take a snap of the charging cost screen on the last day of the month, and on the 31st March the clock was still on GMT. I didn't turn the car on fully, just two pushes on the 'Starter' button to wake the MMCS up, so maybe it doesn't...

    Clock weirdness

In the current lockdown, I took the PHEV out today for its weekly run to the shops. I noticed that the clock displayed on the MMCS was 9 hours ahead of BST. On the way back it was 10 hrs ahead. After recharging was complete, it was back to the correct time. I was under the impression that...

    A few questions!

Definitely probably :). My 65 plate was delivered on Xmas eve and is the (facelifted) 2016 model, but there are 65 plate 2015 models around. I don't think there were many (any?) changes for 2017.

    future purchase

I don't know where you've obtained the information that the standard charger is "not meant for regular use" - I can't find anything from Mitsubishi to support that. I'm aware that too much fast charging is not good for the battery and I understand Tesla monitor and will ultimately limit...

    future purchase

No doubt (as with any manufactured item) there may be some poorly made examples, but I've used only the standard mains charger and after 4 years and >1,000 charges, there's no sign of any problem. Do make sure you use the strap, so the full weight of the charger isn't hanging from the plug.

    Using the "B" levels.

I also use B5 most of the time, but I'll turn it down to B3 if on cruise control in an area where I know there are no steep hills (where B5 may be needed to hold the speed down). This is because I worry (probably unduly) that if I cancel cruise control in B5, I might have some tailgating idiot...

    Extreme cold and battery

My understanding is that you can use normal jump leads on the small 12v battery if it's gone 'flat'. I've never had to try it, though :)

    Using the "B" levels.

Living in the Chilterns, I have a lot of local 1 km 15% hills. Coming down one of those and using B2-B5 to control speed I will generally see the estimated mileage tick up by 1. Sometimes it's 2, sometimes 0, but I think that just reflects rounding errors. Heathen! UCP will always be United...

    Help! My PHEV won't charge...

My 'metal actuating arm' is plastic - so much so that I've clumsily broken off the hooked end. It still functions perfectly, but it's possible to pull the connector from the car without properly disconnecting it (which would be inadvisable). Mine is a 2016 (UK) model, is yours later or earlier?

Outlander PHEV android App - instruction how to make it work

The SSID of the car WiFi is of the format REMOTE99xxxx. If you can see a network with this name on your phone (when you're close enough to the vehicle), then it's got WiFi. In the UK I think only the 3 version doesn't have WiFi (certainly my 4h does).

    pre-heating vs pre-defrosting

A 3kW charger can't fully compensate for the power drain on pre-heat, so unless you leave the car on charge for another hour (rather defeating the purpose) you'll always be a bit down on a full charge. I live at the top of 1.2km 15% hill, so that gives the regen something to do when I set off. :)

    5th Service £485.75

4th service carried out in Oxford yesterday for £400 (I was quoted £488 to have it done at another local dealer).

2019 Outlander PHEV reviews and what we know

Is the RAV4 Prime already available in the US? We can't buy one in Europe until "second half of 2020".

SDA (SmartPhone display) and loss of signal

I can't speak for Apple, but Android allows you to download maps in advance, to overcome this problem (and to reduce mobile phone bills).
