2014 mitsubishi phev battery range and seized calipers

They could have used a much longer time frame for averaging to make the estimate, and it would actually be fairly accurate. The figure of 200Wh/km I quoted earlier is fairly consistent in my driving, and no doubt for many others. I can predict when I get a very high reading, it usually happens...

2014 mitsubishi phev battery range and seized calipers

Mine showed 58 a couple of days ago, and 51 yesterday.... the 58 was a day after I had it serviced and that day I drove in save mode for the 160km round trip to the workshop, the battery range left was about 20km when I got home and plugged it into the charger. Incidentally, I have done a few...

Servicing Costs on service No 4

Just had the 3 year service done yesterday for $470.00.... The initial quotes I had was just over $1000.00 from the dealer I bought it from and $900.00 where I last had it serviced (both PHEV dealers). After asking the service advisor to "get real" and pointing out that this service (A schedule)...

Access to 12V battery and 12V acc socket in boot?

You will have to lift up the whole cover and then it's easy to do. I connected a fused lead directly to the battery and it comes out in the left hand side well. There is enough clearance to have that lead pass through when the cover is fitted back. I also have a low voltage disconnect relay on...

    Australians down under

As far as I know there were only 2 variants, I do have the "standard", that's how I know there is no timer. I use an external one that works just fine (a WEMO switch) and I can also turn that on remotely. As for fuel consumption, I actually think it uses a bit less fuel since the update. I did...

The "poverty pack" model definitely does not have the time functionality......

    Amateur (Ham) Radio Installation.

The head unit of the ID800 is very light and small, I mounted it with velcro on the dash below the temperature control (RH side). The radio is in the boot on the LH side wheel cover. The remote cable is just long enough to reach. My friend went to a bit more trouble and mounted it in the tray...

    Amateur (Ham) Radio Installation.

I have an Icom ID800H installed. Used for the 2 years I had the car with no problems. Not much chance to flatten the aux battery really unless you try hard. I have the timer enabled to turn the radio off after a couple of hours. The radio can run 50W on VHF, but I usually set it to 15, no...

UK service and battery condition report not available

Exactly... that's why the total kWh to recharge can vary quite a lot even though the battery indicator may show the same (i.e. 1 bar) before recharge. However, if it it never uses more then 8kWh to recharge, the battery is probably down a bit.

UK service and battery condition report not available

or simply set the cost of 1 kWh to 1 in the MMCS (if you have that) and read the charge cost after fully charging the car from 1 bar on the battery meter or less. It should show between 8. and 9.5 if the battery is accepting a good charge.

    Charging time

I use a WEMO Insight switch. It gives a readout of kW going in while it is charging, on your phone, as well as total kWh consumed when charge is finished. Saves getting out a calculator ;) It shows about 200Wh more than the MMCS on a full charge, i.e it might say 9.3Kwh in, the MMCS will...

    Flat Aux battery

Actually, the aux battery does not start the engine, ever! The generator does... via the traction battery.

    Flat Aux battery

If an interior light stays on, it could certainly fully discharge the aux battery in 48 hours. It is not very big, can't remember exact capacity but pretty sure it is no more than 50Ah. The noises you hear when you press start are mainly the vacuum pump for the brakes and the pump for the rear...

How would you drive these 2 different commutes?

I think the best advice is to just get in and drive it. Charge it when you can.............

    61 km EV range? Strange.

I have seen over 70 on mine once... In fact, this morning it showed 58. It seems to happen when I've been driving in hybrid mode for a while before charging. It soon comes back to reality though......

    Australians down under

The map update was free. I specifically asked for it, as my "free" update period expires in September. Some time ago I emailed MMA about this (included VIN number), and they confirmed in an email that I was entitled to updates until that date, so I figured it was best to get it done with the...

Had mine done today. Took under 2 hours, including a map update. Did not notice any difference in the way the car behaves.

    Australians down under

Had a call from my service place today and they said the recall is sorted now, so, I booked it in for Wednesday. From what you describe, it seems that where a car is used mainly on battery and is driven so the engine comes on frequently, but only in short bursts, never warming up, the plugs may...

That recall has been suspended here: Someone had it done and it didn't go well...... my car has had the recall security patch applied and it was after this patch that i starred getting errors and the car started to behave strangely. lucky i took photos of the errors as they where random and i...

Drive battery degradation . Houston, do we have a problem?

Since the state of the battery is determined by the chemicals within, it is probably not possible to predict the capacity with 100% accuracy by simply measuring what goes in and out. As the PHEV never allows a full discharge, it would be difficult to accurately recalibrate. The comments by Anko...
