Does the PHEV Have a heat pump 2019-2020

I was wandering what a generic replays all four of them... like from a professional politician. Didn't thought about AI.

    Charging from the engine

Since in Series mode the engine is not locked to the wheels in theory it can always be in most efficient zone but all energy produced will come with mechanical to electrical energy conversion losses. This scenario will feed very high current to the battery though and that won't be ideal...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

The maximum difference in cell voltage on mine 2018 is 0.003V, not ideal but wouldn't say so bad. It can be the culprit though.

Engine running for five minutes while on EV mode

I have installed an remote RF switch on main engine relay so I can shut it whenever I want. You can try the effect by simply removing the relay... here is the moment for an disclaimer. (one should take all responsibility by doing so, I just share my experience) There will by multiple warnings...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Well that's some generic universal app, not surprisingly it can't do what specialized MUT-III can do.

    Charging from the engine

If one want Save to be default should go for an regular hybrid. Save and Charge can't be default cause they are active charge managing features which can leave you with bad efficiency if not used correctly. Charging from the engine when stationary is faster cause all energy goes to charging...

Engine running for five minutes while on EV mode

No it is not the B and full battery issue. That's a thing only in newer models 2023-2024. It is still cold here in Montreal and it is a well known complain for our PHEV. if you do an search you will find a lot of complains like that. Facebook is full of them. At the end of winter even at 10C a...

    Heavy freeway driving

The fuel efficiency on the highway do not depend on mode chosen, Normal, Save or Charge but if the engine is in Series or Parallel mode. Normal, Save and Charge are modes for managing battery state of charge. The consumption when the engine is in Parallel is irrelevant to the selected mode. I...

    Heavy freeway driving

BTW, in stop and go city traffic ECO will have even greater impact, cause of frequent acceleration.

Battery range dropped suddenly (phev, 2016 model)

That's what vehicle is showing or actual range you can drive. Check your brake calipers if hot after a drive. You may have sized caliper if actual sudden drop of range occur.

Return to EV mode after gas engine starts

Once the engine starts it is better to run until it reaches optimal operating temperature. That's why it keeps running.

Does the PHEV Have a heat pump 2019-2020

Only 2023-2024 model has heat pump. That's for North America, don't know may be different around the flat world. ;)

    Charging from the engine

There is some misunderstanding here... switching from Charge to Normal won't encourage it to stay in parallel mode. Exactly the opposite, it will go in to full electric propulsion mode. Since towing and climbing it will continue running the engine (big power demand) but in principle switching to...

Return to EV mode after gas engine starts

What you call "Charge mode" it can't be unless you press that button. The vehicle will cancel the EV mode for variety of reasons... low battery charge for example.

    Outlander PHEV brake caliper upgrade.

I once blocked my wheels on dry surface and the ABS started working so... unless for highly repetitive use and better heat dissipation.

    Charging from the engine

Don't you realize that what you are describing is the vehicle goes in to Charge mode automatically once your battery is exhausted? Exactly the same is happening when you press Charge. The clutch is engaging and you have direct drive to the front wheels, any excess power at your current speed...

    Outlander PHEV brake caliper upgrade.

You bought the wrong vehicle my friend! This one is about efficiency not racing. ;) Those brakes are never to be used but to do an complete stop on traffic lights and parking lots.

    Second phev

I would buy second myself. (y)

What did you do with your Outlander today?

That's why I never use Save, it keeps it often in series and the engine is cycling on - off every few minutes. Why when I have the option to manually control my SoC and keep it in Parallel by using Charge. People see instant fuel consumption jumping a bit and the word "CHARGE" compared to"SAVE"...

When and Why should we use B gears?

B in your conventional 2020 Corolla with automatic transmission is very different to B in PHEV. If you ask from efficiency point of view... best if you don't brake at all, second best if you use regenerative braking B, as slowly as possible better it is. Worst frictional brake. Even if you...
