    Let's stop ICEheat, when cold...

    Ok, thx, I consider this to be a part of the "heating algo". It seems to me basically such algo: Treshold_of_ICE_start = - k1*(temp_outside - 10) + k2*(temp_inside_set - temp_inside_measured) - k3*temp_of_engine - k4*(other_power_demand) - k5*(electric_heater_level) k1...k5 are various...

    Let's stop ICEheat, when cold...

As you know some of my ideas/developments from "Let's go pure EV" thread, I promised to focus on gasoline engine heating function control. I'm still not sure about exact algorythm of ICE start (and I cannot read AC-control ecu to check the algo just in code), I decided to check it step by step...

    Unofficial PHEV wifi app

Brilliant idea! I am so unhappy with official app, it is so unstable and slow with sending commands to the car. Maybe it is possible to set heating power to be lower than max while remote heating? Because now it is using more power than 2kW from factory charger and discharge battery a bit.

No, all PHEVs are identical if we consider using this box. Up to 2015.10 all have same PHEV ECU soft (at least all I have read) and from 2015.11 they have some small alterations, oriented to improve launch (but not especially big nor powerful, as advertised). My box will work equally to ANY...

Anko - your box will be sent tommorow. Notice sexy blue sealing rubber 8-) Meanwhile agree on a greater supply of electricity from your supplier. I'm afraid that you'll be more green. BTW, to all: 2 full charges used (I haven't forgotten to tell ya, I have built my private Chademo...

    Let's go pure EV...

Ok, this box has no influence on heating ICE jump on. Reflashing of PHEV ECU probably can do the job, but I haven't found that in code yet. But I work to add small solution to be controlled by this box, that will add control to AC-forced engine start. Box has an option to connect it to CAN (it...

Worldwide. Even if Mark Watney orders for Mars Rover (it's range looks similar to PHEV EV range ;) I will send one to Mars. Or at least try to throw one up enough.

    Let's go pure EV...

Ok, I think about solving other PHEV issues, also extending range. If so, box will receive updates (it has additional CAN port so it can be used also to control CAN tricks). Updates will be delivered via net, USB connection.

PolishPilot questioned in PM if it is secure of using such box („what if it behaves like american Toyota and set full throttle”). Suggested solution is to use brake. :) :) It is proven, that calling the police or fire brigades and crying, that car accelerates without driver's will is not a good...

    Let's go pure EV...

Hmmm, I haven't checked that, Anko. Clever remark. As it's freezing cold here (I was driving at night yesterday and all was perfect with electric heating) so I must check AC only. Today it will be 10-12 C here, so I check if AC causes problem with limit or not. I pray it to behave same way as...

Of course. V-Tech Tuning Australia will be final distributor, so delivery will be quick. http://vtechtuning.com.au/ They still don't know about that :) but I inform them today.

    Let's go pure EV...

I have already read both PHEV ecu's - 2015 and 2016. There are minor changes in the new one with current progression, oriented to have higher torque at launch/kickdown - but no more top end power. Older versions can be reflashed to be new one (with not exactly 2016 soft because it needs ICE ecu...

    Let's go pure EV...

    1. Installation is easy (unplug one plug over accelerator pedal, plug box wiring to both sides). Nothing special to be dismantled. 2. If SOC comes down to 30%, PHEV would behave as usual. Start ICE.

    Let's go pure EV...

Yesterday I started to think and I decided to adapt one of our products (external controller) to control driver's load demand (driver's wish) and thus - have a pure EV mode without warranty void. I have it working now. I upload video with presentation now, but whole idea is as follows: PHEV ECU...

200W... IMHO it is enough power to lit Christmas lighting, if all LED, but not to defrost.

    Let's go pure EV...

I have bought cells to rebuild battery from LEV40 modules (Mitsu customized cells manufactured by Lithium Energy Japan) to equivalent of LEV50 (they are "clones" of LEV50, chinese, probably not as durable, but not expensive, so I can do test). I wonder if car will correctly use higher capacity...

    Let's go pure EV...

Ok, Zzcoopej. I start writing code for that today - must write some lines of code for that, maybe I will be able to test it soon.

    Let's go pure EV...

I started to think about an alternative idea. Let's alter PHEV ecu to accept additional IDs at CAN, and change behaviour according to these IDs. As they won't be factory codes, if the source of commands is silent (or removed from car - let it be plugged into OBD2 port) - there is no way to...
