Why do you want to disconnect this safety feature ?
Going to replace it with a Dodge Viper exhaust sound generator ? :)
 
I've put tape over mine to reduce the volume, it's way too loud and sounds like a spaceship. To bad they couldn't give it a quiet Mercedes Benz sound.:)
 
It's accessed by opening the wheel well liner in front of the front wheels. There are pictures (and instructions) on a post on this forum (or outlanderforums.com) from last year, other people have done this. I think I just searched for AVAS.
 
Sneak up on them.
No need to even do that in Sarf Lundun, I've twice had people not looking step off the kerb directly into the bonnet - and that's with the sound! Fortunately, I going slow enough for there to be no injury other than their bruised ego. 🤣

Offensive?

Louder than a regular ICE?

Is this the general experience?

I'm wondering if someone has installed an after-market 'vroom-vroom' box.
