Has anyone been able to disconnect the sound generator under the headlights?
YesIs this the AVAS thing? The pedestrian noise maker thing?
Is that a cunning German plan to kill off pedestrians?I've put tape over mine to reduce the volume, it's way too loud and sounds like a spaceship. To bad they couldn't give it a quiet Mercedes Benz sound.

Where did you find it? I would like to tone down mine but can't find the speaker that is making the noise.I've put tape over mine to reduce the volume, it's way too loud and sounds like a spaceship. To bad they couldn't give it a quiet Mercedes Benz sound.
No need to even do that in Sarf Lundun, I've twice had people not looking step off the kerb directly into the bonnet - and that's with the sound! Fortunately, I going slow enough for there to be no injury other than their bruised ego.Sneak up on them.
