Software update using the APP fails

Hi All,

Outlander 2015 using the PHEV0 app.

When I login I get a message that the 'Vehicle Sofware has to be updated'

But when I run the update I get an error: 'Phone battery level is low. Please try again after charging'

I get this error even if phone has a 100% charge or is plugged in!


Has anyone else experienced this?
 
Excuse my ignorance... how can owners update the vehicle software? I thought this was a dealer only thing?
