remote app help

Hi

I am constantly having trouble with my remote app.
It takes on average 4 goes to connect to the vehicle. I can set heating and charging timers, operate the lights and all but cannot change any of the vehicle settings.
Anyone else facing this problem?

Google nexus 5
I have found that if I connect to the car WiFi network like you would through the phone menu and then through the app, it connects straight away.
