Outlander PHEV heat pump?

I'm trying to attach a hitch, but there's something that looks like a pump blocking it. Does anybody know what it is?

You can undo the nuts holding the small pump and shuffle it out of the way in order to put the bolts in and torque them. Not a big deal and not difficult to do. Your only option is install the PHEV hitch which only uses 5 bolts instead of 6...but has a lower capacity rating as well.
