Hi all, did a search for internal light specifications/LEDs for the PHEV and I found nothing, a lot more talk about the front lights/ DRL. This is for a 2018 North American/ Canadian version, a GT.
Does anyone know the bulb types for the interior lights? Manual mentions just their power, not the type
1 - Cargo room light 8 W
2 - Dome light (rear) 8 W
3 - Dome light (front)/Reading light 8 W
4 - Downlight – LED
5 - Vanity mirror lights 2 W
6 - Glove compartment light 1.4 W

I am interested in replacing 1,2, and 3 with LEDs, anyone has done that? I did iit on my Honda and it made a huge difference, way more light and we're not stressed out keeping the trunk open when camping, etc.

BTW, why didn't they use LEDs for turn signal lights? I'm talking about this one

Front turn signal light 21 W PY21W

I used these for the license plate (x2) and charging port lamps (x1):
https://www.amazon.com/AUXITO-Bright-Chipsets-Courtesy-License/dp/B072JLWGQX
and these for the map and dome lamps (x4):
https://www.amazon.com/AUXITO-Extre...04968&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=auxito+31mm&psc=1

I feel they are better than the OEM led package accesory bulbs. Extremely bright with excellent white color temperature. I will try to get photos tonight. Next on my list are amber 2440 bulbs for the front and rear signals then I should be set for LED upgrades

Note those listings come with a pair of bulbs in one package.

Thx for the links, did not realize that the licence plate does not have LEDs...which trim do you have? I have the Canadian GT which is the same as US GT

Pics would be useful

I forgot to acquire some photos for you bud, hopefully tonight I'll have some for you.

I also have a GT as well

ok, just as an FYI, the Auxito LEDs from Amazon DO NOT work properly, talking about the dome and map lights that are the 31mm Festoon bulbs. They make a buzzing noise when starting to dim. Also when turning them on manually from inside the car they flash every couple of seconds. So unusable.
Their other LEDs for the licence plate are W5W type and work ok. So the search continues...any more suggestions?

ok new LEDs tested last night, same issue. This time I tried the SiriusLED 3020 Chipset 400 lumens from Amazon and there's plenty of light, same color temp as the Auxito but seem like they don't make as much buzzing noise as Auxito when dimming. The slow flash when turning them on manually is still there. Has something to do with the car electrical system as only incandescent bulbs seem to work ok in that scenario. I will probably replace the dome and trunk lights with LEDs and keep the map lights as incandescent as I prefer that they work properly. Difference in light is noticeable, see the pics.

Issue w slow flashing - LEDs installed- get in the car with the doors closed and turn on the lights manually, you-ll get this https://youtu.be/-DgTpalM41k

me18PHEV, do you still get problems with your interior LED lights? I replaced all my interior lights on my previous car (Xtrail) with no problems and much better light output. I would be a bit worrier re. the flashing not knowing the effect on the cars electronics. You youtube does not seem available now. Thanks.

I am ordering this led light retrofit for the inner door handle. It comes in 4 as a set for all doors, $39 + shipping costs from China's Taobao.com. It's a Chinese web site only. I need these led to light up the door's panel switches especially at night, you just can't see any switches at either driver or passenger side.

I've just replaced the four internal lights on my UK 16MY 4H. Work fine. I used these

Thanks, just ordered some.

Now fitted, the only difference is that it goes out immediately on shutting the door rather than fading - no problem. The light is whiter (higher colour temperature) and a little brighter in terms of light output.

You made me go out and check
Mine fade just like with the old bulbs in.

To be more precise, I have only changed the boot light for now and frankly can not remember if the original faded or just went out.
I'm happy with the result, but may have to think further to get even more light into the boot as we spend a fair amount of time in very dark places in Scotland in the winter.
