Changed the side lights this morning from the originals to LED Xenon (Canbus error free 501 13 SMD). eBay £5.29 http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/111326560144
It took me less then five minutes.
1) Simply locate the bulbs by wiggling the wire at the back and/or turn the lights on for a few seconds. Don't leave them on or they'll heat up.
2) A quarter turn will release and pull out. Pull the bulb by holding the actual glass as no plastic comes out. Ideally wear a latex glove for better grip.
3) Insert your new LED XENON bulb. It's a 50/50 chance of inserting it the right way so turn the side lights back on for a second to ensure it works. If not pull out and re-insert the other way. Do this before taking the trouble putting the fitting back in.
4) Insert the light fitting back into the holder by ducking down and looking through front of the lens as it can be tricky to locate. Ensure you quarter turn to lock it back into place.
5) The right one is slightly trickier as you need to move a small black box that obstructs you getting to the light. You will see it in my video below but it's simple enough to press the black tab in and slide the box up. Move it to the left in order to create the space to locate the light as above.
It's really simple, even for non technical people. I'm really pleased with this low cost high impact upgrade. Brilliant and credit goes to those on here for finding the correct LED.
