I thought I would share what I have done to improve my own charging at home.
Mod 1; When I had my charging unit installed, a junction box was used to connect the armoured cable from the consumer unit to the wall charger. This had me thinking what if I changed this for a twin weatherproof RCD? so I did, took all of 20mins and hey presto no more getting the extension lead out for the pressure washer. Twin RCD £28 Screwfix.
Mod 2; I'm glad I went for the charging unit without the tethered cable, so I could attach a longer lead (5m). But I am starting to get fed up with putting it away in the back of the car. So the solution is to secure it to the wall, with a lock and wall shackle. Pack of two shackles £10 from B&Q and a good weather tolerant lock also B&Q £12.
