Drops during charging. Is this normal?

Hello,

I purchased my Outlander PHEV 6 month ago.
I also installed ChargePoint at home for quicker charging.
I also bought a Diamond Care coverage.

Every time I charge my car I see charging drops for 20-40 minutes to a halt and then resumes.

I asked my dealer to help and they offered battery balancing as part of my recent 16k maintenance. I paid $400 but the charging issue still shows up every time I charge.
Dealer says it is normal and every Mitsubishi PHEV has the same problem. Is this true?

Do you consider this a defect?
Do you have the same problem?
Can this be fixed?

It is not a problem or a defect. It is a part of the charge management. Balancing such a young car is rather useless, to put it mildly. A total waste of money if you ask me.

It's not a "problem", it's part of the normal cell balancing procedure that the BMU occasionally does during charging.
