Can I use a battery conditioner charger on auxillary battery

hi everyone,
I normally spend 4 -6 weeks out of the UK in the winter months , and during that time away I have always used a CTEK battery charger to trickle charge the battery while away., ie connecting the battery terminals directly with the charging leads.

Can I continue to do this with the PHEV without causing problems........my garage wasn't too sure????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding (can't recall if it's from the manual or from other posts) is that the car will aux charge the 12V battery every night at something like 2am on it's own - so as long as you leave the car with the EV batteries reasonably charged you will not need to do this.
