Bluetooth suddenly stopped working

Hello guys, After spending a few days searching the web for a possible fix for my bluetooth issue, I gave up and thought I'd ask the wise community here.
Very simply the bluetooth is no longer showing up on the mmcs (E-11) screen, nor can I hear hear the little 'chi-bi-du' sound when the smartphone is connected to the head unit. There is a lot of material to read upon regarding smartphone pairing issues, but this is way beyond that as bluetooth itself is just not enabling for some weird reason. There is nothing in the user manual about this either which makes me think it might be the bluetooth chip or component inside the unit. I reset the system a couple of times, that did not do anything.
Have any of you had an issue like this? Is there a way to do a more thorough (hard) reset perhaps or is it going to be a main dealer job? My car is a MY2015 GX4h.

I don't know about MMCS systems, but on non-MMCS the Bluetooth is a separate module, so potentially a head unit reset would have no effect. Might be worth tracking down the fuse for it and resetting that way? Failing that, I'd pop open the dash and check that the cabling hasn't loosened.

Thanks very much for the suggestion. I am not a 100% sure that the BT module in the MMCS would be on a separate circuit as I could not locate any corresponding fuse to it. I will check if I can easily access the cables but it is looking like a main dealer visit$$$$$

I think it's the same fuse as the head unit - might be worth pulling it for five minutes.

How do the 3 steering wheel buttons feel? All nice and clicky?

It's also worth noting that the USB goes via the BT unit, so even more likely that this is the issue. If the hard reset doesn't work, removing the head unit and getting to the Hands-Free Module isn't too much of a hassle.

Hello there, thanks again for staying here and assisting me along. Just back from the car having taken the fuse out that had the little music note symbol. I waited a good few minutes before putting it back in but unfortunately no joy. I also looked at the until while the screen flipped down but saw no screws anywhere. The buttons on the steering wheel are nice and clicky but how would you get to the wiring?

From memory, I'm pretty sure that you can access the module by removing the head unit. It's one of those tasks that seems a bit tough first time around, but becomes second nature after a couple of goes.

You remove the plastic fascia around the head unit, unplug a couple of connectors (hazard lights and eco mode from memory) and get that out of the way. Then it's just 4 screws on the head units' brackets, and out it comes. You can then check the cabling at the back of the head unit, and follow it down to the Bluetooth module.
