Has anyone else noticed a delay when shifting from Reverse to Drive? Here’s what’s happening with mine: I’m backing out of the driveway, I shift to Drive, and even though the power meter shows I’m pressing the accelerator, the car keeps coasting backward. It’s only when I’m nearly stopped or at a really slow reverse speed that Drive seems to fully kick in. 🤷‍♂️

It’s a bit unsettling since I’m expecting to move forward but find myself still rolling backward. I end up hitting the brakes harder than I’d like just to get things under control. My other EVs don’t do this, they shift smoothly into Drive even if I’m coasting a bit in Reverse. Is this normal behavior for the Outlander PHEV, or should I have it looked at?

What Year?

With the electric motor I find you can switch to drive while the car is still coasting in reverse (or vice versa). The car slowly stops then reverses direction. Not as predictable or safe as braking to a stop, then shifting, but something you can’t do with a geared transmission.

Same here, but actually once you have switched from one to the other, pushing the accelerator will make it change direction more quickly as it will apply voltage to the motor which effectively makes it regen when it's opposite to the direction of travel before then accelerating.
