Bought a 2017 PHEV but has no charging leads

Hmm interesting how do you charge an EV with gas? Unless you are an American who took a wrong turn in New York and ended up in "Old" York! 🤣

Is this the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

And travel back in time 5 years to when it was made! 🤣

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

This is all getting a bit surreal. You have a full tank of petrol but would prefer to not use it OK but what do you think will happen to it eventually. Unless you drive in a clean air zone where you could be fined then driving on the ICE will save you money on electricity (probably produced by...

Is this the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

Er, this is from 5 years ago before Mitsu withdrew from markets - so never actually appeared AFAIK! 😥

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

It must have been just luck before, because AFAIK this has always been the same and is certainly so with my 2014 model but, of course, less likely now as I no longer get the same EV range. You might has some difficulty trying to siphon, as I believe later models have an anti-siphon trap in the...

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

So the tank was full when you took delivery, but as it was built several months earlier and would have had fuel put in to test it, then it could easily have been 6 months ago. What you could do is drain the fuel out and then put it back, as it is the refuelling that measures the 20 litres. BTW...

Bought a 2017 PHEV but has no charging leads

If you bought it from a dealer in the UK it would not be of "merchantable quality" under the Sale of Goods Act (unless you specifically agreed to not have the original cable). I imagine the circumstances are similar in Ireland as an EU country - so my first action would be to grab the salesman...

My spare tyre solution. with photo's.

The OP has 4 wheels which suggested that he might want to have 2 sets of tyres but carry one wheel as a spare - if so, then getting a second lot of TPMS valve makes sense. If it is only the one with a tyre, then a cloned valve would be better, but I suspect they are only sold in 4s. But as, my...

    Increasing/Upgrading - Higher Battery Capacity

Because, AFAIK the original BMU offsets degradation by using the "unusable" top and bottom margins to try to maintain range. As this mod (you say) gets round that by accessing those margins then the normal reserve is no longer available to mask the overall reduction in capacity. So users will...

    Increasing/Upgrading - Higher Battery Capacity

Interesting, so will show a faster degradation if it works, eventually - perhaps we shouldn't hold our breath, yet! 😎

    Increasing/Upgrading - Higher Battery Capacity

And why would you want one? The "basic" is merely the same range as the original, despite needing a 50% increase in capacity and if those figures are correct, how can the same battery pack give a longer range in the "extended" version? Something is wrong here, especially as the link talks about...

Replaced the traction battery's modules - success

Hardly "let down" - they reportedly never made a profit here (no doubt hampered by the Colt Cars franchise contract) and their new partnership with Renault apparently precluded them from re-entering the UK market. Businesses are required by law to be profitable over time and are not social...

My spare tyre solution. with photo's.

Hummingbird Motors in Colindale should be able to get them for you and programme them to the car although you will possibly have to use a tyre fitter to actually mount them on the wheels.

    Confused about petrol consumption

Interesting you say that, because my A-level physics (failed, lol) memory doesn't see why speed of itself should make any difference to energy consumption. Whereas wind resistance increases exponentially with speed, thus requiring more energy to overcome. 😎 And to be fair, apart from a lower...

    great resource

I don't think so - although my memory is fading these days, lol. - I'm sure I've driven manual cars with reverse up, down, left, right and even lift to engage, over the last 50+ years - deliberately and accidently! 🤣

Does that stand for Automatic Vehicle Attack System? 🤣

    Confused about petrol consumption

Driving down the Autoroute to South of France on a number of occasions with a roof box at 85mph I was getting a fairly consistent 28mpg - if that's any help. The car is as aerodynamic as a 2 tonne house brick and although it was comfortable with the speed it was at the expense of fuel! 🤣

Get rid of the car and buy a BEV - simples! 🙄

Ev system service required after 100 mile drive - stranded

Well, as the OP only referred to a dolly under the rear wheels, it was a reasonable assumption. As regards Park , I seem to recall from the forum that this physically puts a pin into the transmission but not whether it would prevent the car being moved if one set of wheels was off the ground...
