    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Has anyone looked at taking them to small claims court? Could you not try to get reimbursed for car rental or lost wages during the no start cold snaps?

    Heat pump at low temperatures

That is the temperature the App says as well. I don't think anyone has ever reported the engine starting when using the App when below -15ºC. So not sure why it says it "may" start. "may"-be someone is still working on that? lol

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I think the heat trace tape you are using is perfect for EV battery temperatures. I find the Tesla also likes 10ºC for regen. So I could see this being very useful even in the garage to keep the batteries close to 10ºC: Heat Trace Tape

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Love it! How much did it cost to build?

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I haven’t seen any data that would indicate that. The no start issue is with battery temperature and we don’t have a digital value displayed anywhere to verify it. The bar graph doesn’t help much. I’ve seen the bar with that value after cold soaking at -17°C.

Cold Weather No-Start Work Around - Scheduled Warm Ups

Have you tried jumping the 12v battery as per the owners manual? I would recommend trying that first. Then leave the car on or drive it so that it charges the 12v. If it doesn't work then you might have another issue with the DC/DC converter charging system... or just a worn out 12v.

    Heat pump at low temperatures

In my experience the heat pump shut off temperature has been exactly-15°C. The EVs I’ve owned have run at any temperature. Mitsubishi makes millions of household heat pumps so not sure why they couldn’t find a way to build one that would work below -15°C.

Cold Weather No-Start Work Around - Scheduled Warm Ups

I’ve seen that behavior before when the 12v battery drops below around 9 or 10 volts. All the systems start to drop off line so the computer displays failures.

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I know the media is blaming the cold for the Cybertruck issue but in my experience (10+ years owning Tesla) they have excellent cold weather features. That vehicle probably would have bricked itself regardless of the weather at some point.

How to Replace Interior Lights with LED Bulbs in Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

https://www.outlanderforums.com/threads/replace-interior-lights-with-led-bulbs.507/ I posted those pictures for my 2023. Hope that helps. Just be sure not to have the power on when trying to take out the bulbs. There are some posts about using a screw driver or pliers to take the bulbs out. If...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Here is a FLIR picture of the heater (under front seat) fluid lines I took from our 2018. It really bugged me that they ran the lines outside of the vehicle and didn't insulate them.

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

https://www.myoutlanderphev.com/threads/cold-weather-performance-north-american-2023.5946/post-60933 It has been below -15ºC in Calgary for a week now. So frustrating to be hovering around the heat pump cutoff temperature. I've put the space heater back in the car. It actually helps warm up the...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Tesla have a great battery heater. If you watch the YouTube video's of trying to supercharge a cold battery you will see they don't charge until the battery has warmed up. They also don't give you any regen unless the battery is warm.

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I feel your pain. We took delivery of the car during our -30ºC cold snap two years ago. I documented the issues as much as I could on the forum back then. Was too late to get our 2018 GT back. We never had a single issue with it.

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

"many of us have options.Garage, charging, or waiting out. many ice cars also have difficulties at these temps." Well we know charging really doesn't help. Many ice cars have issues as well but at least you can normally just boost the12v or spray ether into the carb to get them started at -40ºC...

    Generation 4 12v battery charging.

Quicklinks Bluetooth4.0 Battery Monitor II from Amazon. You can see that when the car is plugged in the 12v stays at around 13v. There are "blips" in either 4 or 8 hour intervals when the car is not plugged in. I put a question mark on the 27th. Not sure why the voltage moved up and then stayed...

    Generation 4 12v battery charging.

I was able to track down and purchase the 12v battery monitor. This is what 24 hours looks like with the car not being plugged in with my new 12v battery. So it started out at 12.5v right after a full drive battery charge cycle. At the 24 hour mark 11.69v it charged for a few minutes. I can see...

Anyone Else Experiencing a Shift Delay from Reverse to Drive

My 2023 does that as well. So I think it’s normal behavior.

    Generation 4 12v battery charging.

I have had our 12v empty twice (down to 7 volts). Replaced the battery on our dime as the dealership said it load tested fine so they could not warranty it. I would love to be able to track the 12v charging cycle like you have done. Can you tell us what battery monitor you used to record the...
