On a 3.6kW charger, it can't keep up with the 4kW maximum draw from the electric heater. If the battery's nearly full, the charge rate is well below the theoretical maximum anyway. But the heater draw does diminish as the car warms up, so it could "catch up" on an empty-ish battery. I nearly...

To be fair, the PHEV is as good as any other hybrid or EV at recharging itself. To increase your range in winter, you'll be able to preheat the car while it's connected to the mains so that you don't waster energy using the battery or ICE to heat the car once you've set off. Plus it defrosts...

Do Android phones have a setting similar to iPhones, which is not to auto-join specific WiFi hotspots? It's very useful, otherwise my phone would be connected to the PHEV hotspot all the time while I'm driving

I've not had an issue. There's a lot of advice in Section E of Richi's FAQ.

So you fool the car into thinking the battery is better than it is, so it charges and uses the battery in a way that's likely to harm it. Every reset damages the battery even further. Why do you think they use the BMU to reduce the capacity over time? :roll:

You do realise that what you've said makes absolutely no sense :roll: You cannot drive the car without it trying to charge the battery once the battery shows empty. Well I guess you could if you knew what you were doing and hacked the various computers that control the car. So assuming you get...

You don't say where you're based, as each country has different setups. Have a look at Richi's FAQ for loads of information. There's a link in there to a FB page with warranty information for UK PHEVs. Depending on date of registration, 2015 PHEVs could have 5 or 8 years battery warranty

It does it in our 2015 (manual handbrake) model too. The only way I've found to cut power to the motors is to use the footbrake (or put it in neutral of course).

While stationary with my foot on the brake, no power is going to the electric motors. I can see it on the dash and selecting neutral has no effect. Why on earth would the designers program a car to waste power? :roll: They have programmed it to start supplying power when the brake pedal is...

If the car is stationary with your foot on the brake pedal, putting it in neutral has no effect as no power is sent to the motors. You can see this on the dash. It's only when you release the brake pedal that power is sent - again you can see it on the dash.

My 2015 car resets to 'D' when i cancel ACC by braking or pressing the button.

Once ACC is engaged, the car manages its own regeneration and braking to slow the car down. The 'B' setting is thus meaningless when it's engaged.

I can't find it now, but someone did some tests fairly recently charging the PHEV using the engine at idle. The rate was fairly constant up to 60% (actual), and it only started dropping off after that
