    Front Parking Sensors

I've read, but do not know as fact, that touching the sensors can affect them - body oil stuff. They should be cleaned with the usual warm soapy water and dried without touching them. Pushing them all the way forward from the back wouldn't hurt but its usually obvious if they are out of...

2020 Hitch Options and picture request

Plenty of YouTube video's on DIY fitting tow bars to Outlanders. Both Factory OEM and aftermarket versions. Even shows that Mitsubishi already have a pre-wired plug for it behind the side panel in the load area above the battery. If you buy a kit that includes the factory like/copy loom, it...

    Reverse/Fog light mods

Thank you. I knew it had a name, I just couldn't remember it. You cut a length and peel it's backing off it and it becomes very stretchy which you use to stretch it tight around the join and it does indeed amalgamate to itself to become a single tight layer. It's great for ending a traditional...

    Reverse/Fog light mods

I thought perhaps this would be of interest regards Reversing Lights. I don't know if its the same everywhere but presume so: On RHD vehicles the left rear bumper bar light is the white reverse light - its quite weak. The right hand light is all red and is a rear Fog Light. On LHD vehicles...

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

They put the same speed bumps in parking areas and driveways and roads in speed zones of 5 - 25klm/hr.

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

Agree - not even our Mitsubishi ASX behaves as badly. Nor the BMW wagon, nor the 1996 Rav4 wagon. And its only raised bumps. Potholes and dips are handled quite ordinary and okay - quite well in fact. But anything raised throws the back end into the air to more or less an extent depending on the...

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

I don't have any particularly bad noise like looseness or fault as such, but its very unsettling to the car as it kicks back into the air and the body jostles around before settling. I'm convinced the rear shocks are only single acting or very least -poor settings in the rebound.

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

Yes. I'm aware it's a bit of a gamble. But I'm working on the premise that an aftermarket shock is going to be an upgrade in performance in some way rather than just a replacement. If worst came to worst I could put the OEMs back in as I don't think they are faulty but just a poor choice of...

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

You say that as if I'm dirty on them for it. I've never approached them - I agree they would frown on me asking for warranty. I stated that. It's my choice to try alternative shocks because I think it's a poor choice by Mitsubishi and not faulty shocks. What I did say was that with Mitsubishi...

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

I've had a small machine of 105kg in the back and the effect was much the same - perhaps a little less violent but then knowing the machine was there I crept over any speed bumps anyway. I had my wife in front and two adult kids in the back seat for Mother's Day lunch and went over a speed bump...

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

Actually, the oem shocks feel like they are single acting, or at the very least have little effect in one direction. (probably rebound). I say this because as mentioned, the ride is very acceptable, the springs seem correct for loaded and unloaded conditions, but going over small speed bumps or...

Are Outlander PHEV shocks the same as other models?

Hi. I've been researching rear shocks for my 2020 PHEV because I don't like the OEM ones. They are okay ride and the roll is well controlled, but pitching back to front is terrible - mine kicks like a mule going slowly over speed bumps and others. Only 34,000klms. So I've researched a large...

    Android Auto wireless

My cig charger also has a C and 2 usb ports but I'd be wanting to use the C for charging the phone as its higher amps and accordingly quicker which is my aim of going wireless. ie: the vehicle usb port is quite weak and very slow to charge the phone.

    Android Auto wireless

Hello and thank you. Neat. I do already have a 12v Cig USB 3 output charger which tops my Pixel 6 up very quickly - unlike the snails pace of the Outlanders USB 2. Its one of the reasons I wanted to go wireless, so the charging cable could plug into the phone instead of the car. But I guess...

    Android Auto wireless

Hi. My Android Auto works on my 2020 Outlander PHEV through the bluetooth and cable connection. I'd like to use Android Auto through the wireless connection if possible but I cannot find info if the outlander is compatible. It does have wireless as evidenced by the Outlander remote software...

    Brake discs

So today I filled up the fuel tank. Took 39 litres so not really empty but got sick of the yellow rectangle and the warnings and flashing bowser. So on the screen in front of the driver I use the display set to EV range and Fuel range as I found it the most useful. The fuel range told me I had...

    Brake discs

Hi. Isn't that the original point of this conversation - ie: my fuel consumption taking into account all the EV driving? Thanks for the tips on the steering wheel controls. Its one of the problems I am encountering with this vehicle - so many ways to achieve the same thing sometimes. Its a big...

    Brake discs

So I'm okay to admit I'm still coming to grips with this car. Its also the first time I have experienced EV's. There seems to be a lot of things to interpret, some of which doesn't seem to be an exact science and more guess-o-meter by the car. I looked this morning on the trip page under PHEV...

    Brake discs

Cry BS all you want. Trip screen said 3.9l/100k for fuel and I don't remember the electrical. Right now after 2700klms including the same trip and the 1 1/2 fills the same screen is reporting 2.2l/100k and 14.5kW for the electrical side - one above the other on the screen - not total. Its an...

    Brake discs

Over Xmas I purchased a 2020 Outlander with 31,000klms on it on the Gold Coast in Qld and drove it back to home in Sydney. Single day - 8.5 hours. Various speed zones to Tweed river and then 110klms per hour all the way to Raymond Terrace other than an 80klm/hr slowdown through Coffs Harbour...
