I did update page 1 with the D method ...

D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

I would suggest to check in advance the SOC and voltage after 2h rest from your trip ... You might get surprise about SOC, and as well, if the voltage per cell is below 3.78v ... I would suggest to don't leave overnight the car in such low voltage ... better to charge a bit the car .. I often...

D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

Ok ... I guess is just a terminology "issue" Trickle charge , which as far as I know it is used for NiMh, NiCd and LeadAcid , is a way to keep fully charged a battery, and this trickly charging is a never ending process In case of Lithium battery, the charging process has two phase : Constant...

D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

So .. 1h trickle - charging ... that's strange ... never notice on my PHEV .. I have a monitor on power level from the 220v .. so I should be able to spot it in case. Trickle charge Lithium battery is not a good thing ... maybe you should use the stock 10A charger, not a 6A charger ...

D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

Over-Charge is never an issue Over-Discharge is what is your risk now. I see that immediately after charge you get SOC of 35Ah (in my case it is different, I get even more then 100% or more then 38Ah) So .. I would not assume this is always the case ... sometime the charging process is paused...

D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

Super :ugeek: Let us know how behave your PHEV .. it was 29Ah before reset ... so check that it does not get over discharged when used "hard" in EV mode. I'm also checking the SOC changes while at rest, for get an idea of real SOH .. I'm losing over 2Ah if I make multiple trips in EV mode...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Also LaFerrari is a "fev" ... but it is missing the EV mode ... like the first Outlander PHEV :ugeek:

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

About the D method ... I was thinking .. can be simulated a low voltage 12v battery with a big capacitor .. like a super cap ? I think this can be easily put down in natural way to around 8v (or whatever is needed) .. without any side effect. Possibly a relative expensive way ... possibly is...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Ok ... if it was for a short time ... yes it is relative safe ...5A charge in a Lipo ... I bet you would need to use a relative high capacity battery at around 50% SOC ...anyhow ... details ... About that nothing mention here is recommended ... this is questionable. I think there is evidence...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Yes .. but ... if the 12v is dead .. the PHEV will not start at all ... I would not gamble on over discharge the 12v battery ... I would not even use a 3S Lipo (I see the DC/DC charger push 14.7v ... this will fry a 3S Lipo relative quickly) But yes an old and broken 12V lead acid battery...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Based on the feedback from people which manage to reset the BMU with a "tricky procedure" (now there are multiple variations) .. I doubt that this has to do with a firmware update while the car was serviced ... Anyhow ... the most "appropriate" way to reset the BMU , via cable and software can...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Yes, considering that at each service, the garage normally make all the possible firmware update , it is possibly relevant. My car had the last service 10 months ago. Still this bug in the firmware which cause a BMU reset, I believe has not connected to a firmware update. I also doubt that...

Why did Lindqvist work for you?

Battery Reset Procedure from Lindqvist: 1 - Drive your battery low 2 - Disconnect 12v battery 3 - Wait 2h-6h 4 - Plug-In the car 5 - Connect 12v battery for 3-5 seconds 6 - Let the car fully charge 7 - Disconnect Charger 8 - Reconnect 12v battery Method above did not really work for me ...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

I think ... we think very differently .. but maybe we want to say similar things ... Yes ... drive a PHEV in a proper way, it means most of the time to maximize the EV usage , or drive in pure EV if possible Yes .. this require to limit the power to only 60Kw , so no hard acceleration which...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

How much you can really drive depends by too many parameters So, real EV range is not a reference for me.
  18. E

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

EV range is not a valuable reference. Just make a very slow trip .. on the next day the EV range will go up Make a very fast trip ... the next day EV range will do down +/- 10km in EV range is total normal Only real reference .. is SOH from WatchDog Apps ... Alternatively .. which I'm not...

BMU update C1811R - Major improvment

Did SOH changed in your car ? If not ... EV range is just a 15% difference in guessing the kwh/100km .. so it is enough to have the previous trip down slowly and you get 15% extra range Also unplug the 12v battery for few seconds, does reset the consumption in the previous trip, and it...
