    Safety Recall UK

I have not read about this recall but have recently noticed a rattling sound from the rear of the Phev when going over bumps in the road. Sounds like the rear brake pads rattling. Had this sound when the front brake caliper sliders seized on a Hyundai last year. I'll take a close look this...

Thule Roofbar Question - again ;)

Hi Roger. Your pictures show the standard Mitsubishi Outlander flush rails. Those roof bars of yours look like they will fall off very easily. Here's mine with the Thule 4030 mounting kit, 753 footpack & the 769 steel bars.

2013 PHEV No Thule roof bars will fit, says shop

Hi mtrobert. I have Thule roof bars on my 2015 car. Do you have the same flush rails on the roof as below? If so, I'm sure you'll need the 4030 fitting kit, 753 foot pack and steel or aero bars. I have the 769 steel bars. Very easy to fit, but when set up, remember that the flush rails are...

MY2019 Outlander PHEV 2.4 4H - My Test Drive Weekend.

Having owned Landrover Defenders with mud terrain tyres for many years, I wasn't sure what to expect from the Phev in snow. I found the Phev quite sure footed in the snow with winter tyres but because it has no more ground clearance than other small cars, it couldn't cope with much depth &...

Towbar wiring which route from boot to bonnet

There is no requirement to run any cables to the engine bay. The trailer connector for the vehicle specific wiring kit is in the boot of the car (2013 - 2016 model) & not under the bonnet. Power is taken directly from the battery terminal in the boot. Fitting the vehicle specific wiring kit is...

Towbar wiring loom under bonnet attachment

Hi Fluxenator687 The trailer connector for the vehicle specific wiring kit is in the boot of the car (2013 - 2016 model) & not under the bonnet. I assume 2017 is the same... Power will be taken directly from the battery terminal. See...

    Can anybody help with this?

Hi Luke. Looks like an earth strap. I think it's located in the diagram below (circled in red). Sorry, I don't know the part number. There should be something equivalent that you could purchase from your local motor factor.

    Replace standard bulbs for LED

Hi Radical2301. I bought a pair from the link below. Straight swap, no cutting or drilling for these. Had them on the car for about 18 months. No issues...

    Towbar - self fitting

But Mitsubishi do not make towbars or wiring kits. They supply aftermarket brands. ;) If they took longer than 5 hours to install the towbar & wiring kit, they obviously didn't know what they were doing & screwed up. I would guess that they damaged your car & didn't want you to find out. The...

Winter/offroad tyres on 16" rims? Anyone tried?

Another thread here: http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2779 I opted for 225/55 R18 Cooper Weathermaster WSC winter tyres after reading some fantastic reviews. Only about £82.00 each. Prices do fluctuate enormously through the year. They performed very well in the snow...

    Toyos not winter tyres. Ouch!

Decided to put the Phev & winter tyres to test this-morning and try to get to work. We now have freezing rain on top of the snow. However, the Phev has very little ground clearance & after 25 yards, it just sat on its battery. Took a few attempts, but it soon got up the road. Led light...

    Toyos not winter tyres. Ouch!

Glad you are ok Dusz. The car looks quite bruised. I had the first opportunity today to drive my Phev with winter tyres in the fresh snow, (Cooper Weathermaster WSC). The car performed very well indeed. Sure it is nowhere near as sure footed as a Discovery 4, but I found some quiet roads to...

GREEN MOULD/ALGAE AROUND THE EDGES OF THE CLEAR TAIL LIGHT L

My clear rear lights have lots of algae around the edges too. I thought about squirting Milton sterilizing fluid around the edges & letting it soak for a while. Anyone else tried this?

    High Level Stop Light removal

    If you are going to remove the trim, it's well worth buying a trim removal tool. I bought a set for about £10 & removed the dash trim easily without leaving any marks. This shows where the tailgate fixings are;
