BobK:
My 2014 Owner's Manual says "230V/16A - about 3.5hours" for the Type 1 input.
If your charging takes 6.5 hours, then it sounds like you're charger is only on a 120V supply.
"The electrician had to modify the maximum charging rate from 50 to 35 amps because that is all that was left of...
Replaced that Aux battery with a yellow Optima YTR2.7BCID51R from Tanya UK for £163 + delivery.
The old one's voltage was even lower today, 11.73V at 6 degrees C.
I wonder how long I've been teetering on the cliff-edge of Failure to Launch ?
When I replace the fuel cap on my 2014 PHEV after fueling, the tank is at ambient pressure.
Next time I release the cap to refuel there is the "hiss" of pressure being released.
I'd say it's evaporated fuel being released.
You asked the dealers the right questions, but who believes the dealers, particularly in regard to electric vehicles ?
Hindsight is wonderful, if only you'd looked at the sub-zero weather posts on here before you bought the PHEV :-<
12V batteries put on the PHEV are not the best and they fail every 2-3 years.
Seriously ?
My UK 2014 still has the original 12V battery.
Measured just now, 12.17V at 2 degrees C on the "jump start" terminal in the fuse box under the bonnet.
"keep thinking maybe I hit / cut a wire when I brought in the new one,"
You think ?
The video made several observations about the risk of putting the cable through that grommet.
You'll have to open the grommet to find out which wires are shorting together.
Well that "fix" didn't fix after all.
Definite fix was:
The "gear lever" wasn't always springing back to it's rest position after selecting Forwards.
So whenever the car starts beeping I give the knob a gentle nudge and it springs back on it's own.
Is there some lubrication required ?
Recently the car started beeping "beep-beep, beep-beep....." when driven.
Searching has shown there's no official list of sounds, there is a compilation of deciphered sounds earlier in this thread.
Turned out to be due to a map book on the rear passenger seat that's been stored there for...
IMO, most of us seem to be in two distinct schools of thought on this:
One group loves B5, to Regen whenever possible.
The other group loves B0, to save as much charge as possible by coasting, only Regen braking when necessary.

And try disconnecting / reconnecting the negative lead of the 12 Volt Auxiliary Battery.
Under the cargo deck flap, in the left corner, under a plastic lid.
