    Mitsubishi PHEV 2014 owner introduction

Mount bush ? You can see in Mr Pastry's image that the rubber part of the motor bush has started to separate from the metal parts. The rubber reduces motor vibration and noise transmission.

    Pneumatically compromised!

"I realized I just could not loosen the wheel nuts even though I tried to 'jump' on the wheel spanner." Had the same problem with wheel bolts "torqued" by "professionals" at the tyre depot. Took a 3 foot extension AND jumping on it. Loosened all the wheels and retightened with the car's wheel...

    Exhaust Rattling - Trailer Hitch

Does any of the rear suspension have to be removed to fit the towbar ? They may have tightened up attachments with rubber bushes without driving the car first to settle the suspension .

A little confused about battery range...

Hi Pete Charging away from home can cost up to 70p/kWh. So if you've run out of battery on the road, the CHARGE mode using the petrol engine is actually cheaper at current petrol prices. Ideally charge at home with Off-Peak electricity.

    DaveHO

Hi Dave. How many miles is your average drive at home ? Do you charge at home with the granny or with a wall-mounted EVSE ?

    2023 Outlander PHEV Ralliart

Hi Kunya. O'ahu is only about 50 miles wide, so unless you regularly cross the island, aren't most of your journeys in EV mode ? So Charge Points are unnecessary. If the prices are like the UK, a Charge Point costs 5 times or more the cost of charging at home with the granny charger and a...

My road trip across the country

"All together 10,638 miles, 95% on Gas, we could only charge a few times." I'm surprised alternating Charge mode and EV mode only gave you 5% in EV ?

    Coolant bubbling

I would have assumed a leaky head gasket. Any water in the coolant would boil at a lower temp than the coolant and produce steam bubbles. But I believe the coolant is at about 90C, which is below water boiling point........

Outlander 2014 Charging Woes: Seeking Solutions

"Multimeter red, against red jumpstart. Multimeter black in numerous positions on the chassis." Mine reads 12.6V in OFF and 14.67V in ON. You have flipped the red plastic cover to get access to the metal contact :-) ?

Outlander 2014 Charging Woes: Seeking Solutions

Also check the aux battery voltage is around 14V when the car is ON. Showing that it's being charged by the traction battery. You can easily measure the aux battery voltage at the red "jump start" terminal in the big under-bonnet fuse box.

Outlander 2014 Charging Woes: Seeking Solutions

With my 2014, if I press the Start button once with foot off the brake, the car goes to "ACC" mode. If I step out and close the drivers door the car "beeps. If I plug in a 230V wall-mounted EVSE the beeping stops and it charges.

Outlander 2014 Charging Woes: Seeking Solutions

You have a non-portable EVSE on a 3-Phase supply - what is the adapter you mention ? You also have a granny charger that does work but only in "learning mode" - as Andy, what is that ? Something on the app ? And it also doesn't charge from CHAdeMo - did you try several, as in the UK I find...

2017 outlander goes to limp mode and petrol engine won’t turn on even

What range is it showing after you switch on and before you try to drive ?

2017 outlander goes to limp mode and petrol engine won’t turn on even

Always check the condition of the 12V Aux battery first.

    Mitsubishi PHEV 2014 owner introduction

Your wife may have the same condition as my wife - Hyper Thyroid. She swings between feeling very hot, and cold, when everyone else is fine. Like cold east wind, everyone in parkas hats and and gloves, she's in her tee-shirt.

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

"Are you saying that you have no thermometer inside your home?" That's right, we have a thermostat that we turn up if we feel cold, turn down if we feel hot. Same as the climate control on the car.

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

You feel hot - turn down the aircon setting. You feel cold - turn up the aircon, or heater. Why do you need to know what the temp is ?

    Mitsubishi PHEV 2014 owner introduction

Why ? Because you frequently use the ICE to heat ?

Mines white, I mistakenly bought the basic model that doesn't have electric heating.

Interested in Purchasing 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – Seeking Advice regarding battery degradation

My 2014 11kWh has a over 9 UK gallon fuel tank and does a 240 mile journey without refueling. If you use the modes correctly you get a third to half the journey on battery. I've never tried it but I'd guess over 300 mile range.
