    Towing - What Mode

That's not how my 2014 appears to work. It drives on battery only until I select CHG. Then the ICE starts and doesn't turn off until I deselect CHG.

    Towing - What Mode

What clues do you get that you're neither regen or powering ?

Can any one help i have a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander phev twin motor.

The steel case holding the traction battery will most probably have a braided cable connections to an earth point on the chassis. If it's corroded to the extent that it's almost severed then it will need replacing.

    Towing - What Mode

To use the accelerator pedal to get zero Regen when in B5 I'd have to be glued to the dash dial instead of looking at the road. Use the Regen paddles, that's what they're for.

B5 for for going down really steep hills.

    Perfect island car!

Welcome Bob. Might be a Good Thing to warm up the ICE now and then. To circulate the oil and water and to prevent "things" seizing up.

RBS error, EV system service required and car goes to limp mode after driving with the ICE

Many "100%" stories out there. Always charging to 100% is bad for the battery ? Fast Charging to 100% is bad for the battery ? I've heard that periodic Slow charges from zero to 100% and left to balance is good for the battery ?

    Weird noises after driving

As Andy said, hot expanded ICE components cooling down and contracting.

What is normal for a 2018 PHEV with 75,000 miles on it, in the United States

Hi Bob, That's a real shame. What was the range showing on the dash display when you were inspecting the car, surely the most important check to make ? Did the dealer say what range it had ? Now that you've found this site you'll probably looked around and seen reference to the PHEV WatchDog...

Self-charging fuel use in a 2023 outlander PHEV

Okay geddit, parked up, it's not worth using CHG to gain battery capacity. This must be for some special situation, like at a comfort break, leaving the ICE running ?

Self-charging fuel use in a 2023 outlander PHEV

But you use those stationary figures to justify that "it is not worth using the recharge mode "

Real Electric Range in the 2023 Outlander PHEV

Overlander is a Mitsubishi Outlander that can fly....... :-)

How long can these cars last?

A duel clutch would have quite a fight !

Self-charging fuel use in a 2023 outlander PHEV

"it is not worth using the recharge mode , which burns 12.6 liters for 100 km of range." Can you clarify that 100km is using 12.6L of gas and the charge accumulated by Charge mode ? I find that 100km would consist of about 40km of Charged energy and 60km of gas.

Using my 3 pin charging cable on a standard uk double outside socket?

UK granny chargers output 10A max, as the UK 13A plug was never designed to handle 13A for hours at a time.

Finally changed my 12v AGM maybe 10 years old

My 2014 had the original 12V Aux Battery. Until I changed it last year, still working, after reading here how vital it is to starting the car.

Car not charging from charging box

The correct term for the device for charging the PHEV is an EVSE - Electric Vehicle Service Equipment. But most people just call them Chargers. If by "charging box" you mean a portable 220V Battery Power Station, then if you plug in your 220V EVSE it's possible it might work, if the Power...

Burning rubber smell from back of car, while just driving on ECO.

Are you sure thus isn't normal catalytic converter smell after running the ICE ?

Bit of a 12v AGM dilemma

Check when the car is ON that the battery volts rise to about 14V, showing that the car is charging the battery.

2025 model year: CVT, transmission, or one gear direct drive?

Why not just measure the diameter of the wheel and tyre on the car ? An average of the height up from the road contact point, and 90 degrees from that.
