To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

Which model year? And what does it say in your manual?

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

Well this is interesting because it's now been over 95 days since refueling and the ICE has still not been forced on. This might actually be the longest interval reported here so far, so I wonder if: - Mitsubishi changed the code that controls the old fuel burn off and increased the number of...

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

94 days, 2 minutes since refueling: ICE still hasn't been forced on.

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

Actually no. My tank is nearly full, since I refilled completely after a road trip and then the lockdowns happened, and I have barely used any gas for 93 days and counting. Only time in 93 days was when I started the vehicle when it was 37°C outside and I had the climate controls set to 22°C and...

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

It's now at 93 days, 1 minute, since refueling and the engine still hasn't started. Does this happen as soon as you put it in READY mode or do you need to start driving/reach a certain speed/etc.?

Checked again yesterday, at 92 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes since refueling. Engine still hasn't started.

    Charging Algorithm for 12V Battery?

OBC should not be used during rapid charging. OBC is what converts AC to DC when doing Level 2 or Level 1 charging. I suspect that the system is simply powered ON and is using the main drive battery to run, and since it's powered ON, the 12V battery also charges.

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

It has been 90 days and 19 hours since I last filled the tank and I'm still not getting this message. I wonder how many days need to have elapsed before this happens. Do you have to reach a certain speed before this kicks in? I just put the car in READY mode (but didn't move it from my garage).

    Stuck in "Charge" mode

To prevent your engine from being destroyed by stale gas? Unless you put fuel stabilizer in the tank, trying to override this feature by disconnecting the battery is stupid.

    Charging Algorithm for 12V Battery?

Well I just found out that the 12V battery charges during CHAdeMO charging. This was very interesting because I didn't expect the vehicle to be running the onboard charging equipment since CHAdeMO bypasses the OBC. But the vehicle was applying 14.10V to the 12V battery during CHAdeMO charging...

    Pure EV mode

Interesting data point: I don't think the car must have been in the burning sun "for hours". I was sitting in a parking lot with the windows open, ambient temperature was around 36-37C. I had the climate controls set at 22C. When I started the car, and before I even moved it (actually before I...

Flattened auxiliary battery - any consequences?

What's the model number of that device? The AutoXS stuff I see doesn't even allow setting of CCA (and is more like a battery state-of-charge device and charging system tester rather than a load tester).

Flattened auxiliary battery - any consequences?

I take it that you set all of the parameters (CCA, battery chemistry, etc) properly in the tester? Which one do you have? I'd like to avoid getting that one. Maybe I should also pick up a traditional 50-100A load tester too. I wonder if you had an individual cell just conk out, as opposed to the...

Flattened auxiliary battery - any consequences?

It's not that type of load tester, it's a much more advanced one that applies a small load and a larger one and larger one and extrapolates. I didn't want to get one that actually pulls 50-100A out of the battery but not because I think it'll damage the battery -- that's unlikely since the...

Flattened auxiliary battery - any consequences?

I'm about to order a battery load tester so that this doesn't happen to me. Unlike a pure ICE car (where you'd likely hear the car having trouble cranking just before the battery fails completely), these vehicles don't ever stress the 12V battery to the point where it's obvious it's about to...

Overcharging and reduced car use during Lockdown

That's not really going to save your main drive battery. It's not good for Li-ion batteries to sit close to 100% or even above 90% for long periods of time. What I do is charge mine and then immediately after charging it, drive it about once every 2 weeks, which takes the SoC down to about...

    Charging under lockdown

Do you have reason to believe it's just a 32 bit microcontroller? I think Mitsu didn't really take power budget into account and is running something much more power hungry along with the WiFi. Except unlike Tesla (which regularly issues OTA software updates and my friend with one says that his...

    Charging Algorithm for 12V Battery?

If the WiFi is enabled, the car apparently charges the 12V battery daily (from the main drive battery) even if it's just parked and unplugged, but if WiFi is disabled, it won't ever charge the 12V battery unless you connect it to a EVSE or put it in READY mode. BUT, without WiFi, it only loses...

    Charging under lockdown

Have you been able to determine what the power draw of the WiFi is (i.e. by putting an ammeter in line with the battery terminals)? If it is indeed a "couple of watts", then that's 166 mA of current. The Yuasa s46b24l(s) is rated at 45 Ah in the 20 hour test. Assuming we use the same total...

    Charging under lockdown

10 presses causes the vehicle to start accepting new connections and enables beaconing. If no device registers, then it should stop beaconing. If a device registers, then WiFi is enabled, and it should continue beaconing. It's roughly equivalent to pressing the button on a garage door opener. 20...
