Strange button on outlander 2.4, can somebody identify purpose?

Mine has that button and it activates the "household" 240 AC socket between the seats facing rearwards and the one in the boot. It is to the German Instyle specification, so the heated windscreen (I presume) is blanked out.

Series Hybrid Mode - Racing Engine question

It has not. Just try it when you are driving in parallel at medium speed. Depress the accelerator demanding full power and it will go to Series to bring the ICE revs into the full power range of the ICE. At high speed it will stay in parallel, as the ICE revs are already in the full power band.

Installing 12V Supply Socket for Camper Trailer

Why not plug a regular charger into the 240V (maybe 110V in your area) socket of the PHEV?

Series Hybrid Mode - Racing Engine question

It is not only speed, power demand is an even more prominent parameter.

Series Hybrid Mode - Racing Engine question

If you are travelling above the speed threshold the car will decide whether it will be in series or parallel mode depending on power demand and road speed.

Series Hybrid Mode - Racing Engine question

No it will not do that. When you press Charge the engine will start running to charge the battery without sconnecting to the wheels. That only happens when the car determines that this is the most efficient way of running the car.

What a difference a tyre makes

The difference in consumption between the tyres is less in ICE mode than in EV mode. I have no explanation.

What a difference a tyre makes

Well, it depends on the winter conditions. For places like Northern Scandinavia or Russia this may well be the case, sometimes studded tyres are even better, however for more temperate climates including the Alps (where winter road maintenance is well developed) this is certainly not an issue.

What a difference a tyre makes

The strange thing is that the improvement in consumption -although present- is far less using the ICE. All-season tyres are nor specifically snow tyres, they are more generalist than winter tyres. They are meant for climates with occasional winter conditions. So I would say you are driving the...

What a difference a tyre makes

When I bought my car last year (less than 15.000 km) to replace my 2013 model it came on Pirelli Scorpio Verde All-Season tyres. Pretty impressive I thought, if only the name. By now and 10.000 km later I was totally fed up with them: uncomfortable, noisy, the car was twitchy on the straight...

    PHEV rear seat removal

As there is no gain in removing the backrests, they fold down onto the bottom of the car to make a flat floor, it would be best to just remove the seat parts at the hinges.

    Hand Brake / EPB

It probably needs the computer to be reset. One of the reasons why these cars are better not serviced by workshops that lack the training and knowledge to do so. It is even possible to lose your guaranty by having the service done by a garage that is not authorized byMitsubishi.

New Owner 2015 PHEV - 19 kms of range

If the battery goes down more than one would expect, the trouble is normally that just one or two cells have lost capacity. If you have had battery-driven cars (like the Toyota Prius) in your country for a number of years, chances are that there are battery repair services that can change only...

Outlander Shutdown and won't start. Need to be jump started

The ICE is not started from the 12 V battery, but from the generator, which is powered from the main battery. However, when the temperature drops below -20º C the car is outside its temperature operating range and may need to be jump-started.
