Won't run in EV mode after fast charging

I generally have tried to book my lunch break at a fast charger on long trips - but it isn't very often that a fast (or any) charger is available for many of the places I travel. I probably fool myself that I am contributing a few less molecules of CO2 when I travel this way. It certainly does...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

My only concern is by covering the battery it could cause it to overheat once it got to operating temperature. I would think the car would tell you if this is happening. I'm not familiar with these, but if they are easy to remove before driving than it may not be an issue.

Won't run in EV mode after fast charging

I wonder if anyone else has experience with this. I have a 2023 and frequently take long highway trips with it. If I can spare the time, I will stop to charge it up at a CHAdeMO fast charger to about 80%. What I find is that the car behaves differently than when I leave home with it fully...

    1500 watt plug

Is that the Mitsubishi trailer hitch or a third party one? My swipe success rate didn't changed after I installed the factory trailer hitch.

    1500 watt plug

The SEL trim on my 2023 came with a sensor under the rear bumper that you can trigger with your foot to open the rear tail gate. In my experience it works about 90% of the time (seems to depend on footwear or motion), but it also triggers when you are fiddling underneath the car (like attaching...

    2023 Outlander PHEV SEL

I had the 2023 Mitsubishi hitch installed by the dealer. I ordered it with the car, but it took 6 months to get it. It is anchored further back than a normal trailer hitch which makes me think there could be possible issues with the usual mounting points that UHaul would use. I would make sure...

    Exhaust Rattling - Trailer Hitch

I had exactly the same thing and the dealer was able to fix it. Not sure what they did, though.

    Charging

I'm not aware of a Tesla charger to Chademo adapter existing. I gather it would require a lot of technology including a small computer to safely function. I see Tesla to J1772 adapters on Amazon and they should charge at the same rate as any other J1772 charger I would think.

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

Sounds like you are assuming the gas was put in the day you got it. I'm guessing the countdown on the age of the gas started much early than when you received delivery of the vehicle. I would just burn off the old gas this once then see how it behaves going forward. As others on the forum have...

Return to EV mode after gas engine starts

I find on my 2023, once the gas engine turns on it will run for 5 min or so no matter what you do. I think this is to prevent condensation forming before the engine is fully heated. Some members on the forum doubt 5 minutes is long enough to fully heat the engine.

    Heavy freeway driving

I do a lot of highway driving. I also know I have about 7km of non-highway driving before I either get to the highway or leave it to get home. So I start out in EV mode because it is more efficient at lower speeds and stop/start traffic until I get to the highway. Then I switch the button to...

Return to EV mode after gas engine starts

If it gets cold enough, the Internal Combustion Engine' s coolant might turn to ICE, which could be a source of In Car Entertainment as the passengers try to get warm.

Return to EV mode after gas engine starts

I find if the battery is cold, the ICE tends to kick in earlier at a lower amount of acceleration.

    Charging from the engine

In my experience so far, running the vehicle in Charge mode while towing results in more high revving than running it in Normal. But I agree with you that running the battery to exhaustion is not the answer either, so that is why I am experimenting with Safe mode - but not sure if this really is...

    Charging from the engine

I've used it when towing, but the engine often revs quite high. The Outlander has a pretty low towing rating, so I wonder if Charge Mode while towing a large load puts undue stress on the engine?

Struggling with this fast charging business

This summer was the first time I used the ChaDeMo on one of the Flo chargers near me to fast-charge my 2023. They look like they were designed in the ‘70s Soviet Union to withstand a nuclear attack. The fellow Outlander user ahead of me helped me out by starting it for me, but I didn’t pay...

Spare wheel / space saver … a Maverick alternative?

According to moderntiredealer.com "An all-season tire that meets 3PMS is still a remarkable tire in the balance of performance it can deliver and for that reason, they represent the top 10% of the all-season tire market. But the best dedicated winter tires out there can deliver up to 50% more...

Level 2 charger at home, anybody? What are your thought?

And using a long extension cord, which would drop the voltage. I only use level 1 when I am away somewhere and generally have to run it quite a distance to find a recepticle.

Level 2 charger at home, anybody? What are your thought?

it could be temperature related as well. It is hovering around freezing these days.
