    Driving tips

You are assuming incorrectly... Charge when used where it should be used (on the highway) don't put an additional load on the engine. Completely the opposite, while on speeds over 65km/h (42mph) the engine works in parallel mode, like you have said - directly driving the wheels. Since there is...

    My new phev

Just be aware that the advertised battery range will be diminished fast once you start using it. Especially if you fully charge it. Slower and steady diminishing after.

    Driving tips

The engine to drive front wheels directly one should have a continuous speed of at least 65km/h (42mph) Save should do it while the battery is in new and good condition. Mine 2018 is doing it very rarely in Save but in Charge mode it drives the front wheels all the time without any problems...

    DTC on freeway

Was any kind of battery, BMU reset done on the vehicle? What is your current battery status? If the problem appear only when battery at lowest it is very suspicious that such reset may be performed and the battery is actually not reported properly and even lower than it shows.

    freeway charging

Another point here is that the engine can operate in 2 modes only: Series and Parallel. Since Parallel mode is indisputably more efficient the goal should be to use the engine only in that mode which is available in speeds over 65km/h. That being said depending on itinerary one should build...

    30,000 service

You should have the actual schedule in your manual. This is what pop up first: Capital Mitsubishi Maintenance Menu 2022+ | Capital Mitsubishi in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador Be careful though... a lot of clowns out there - replacing spark-plugs at 15k miles or every year. LOL...

Was ICE cold weather start formula reprogrammed?

I believe that as well. Only when the vehicle is new the folks say it keeps the engine off even at -10. Next winter they start asking the same questions... why my engine keeps kicking in. The other clue is after an DBCAM my battery went up 8% and that lowered the temperature at which the engine...

3 Unsuccessful DBCAMs in a row + weird readings. I need your input guys, I am doing something wrong.

By which value... if you mean percent of 38 or 40Ah it is 84% of 40Ah and 88% of 38Ah. Currently at 33.4Ah 60% electric kilometers but I am not completely sure it is calculated properly cause I am disabling the engine during the winter most of the time and the gues-o-meter is not working cause...

‘Charge mode’ - is that bad for the battery?

Yea I completely agree with you regarding engine efficiency sweet spot and vehicle being in parallel mode dumping excess energy in to the battery being most efficient. I didn't meant to describe the normal operation mode with juice left in the drive battery and the ice just kicking in to assist...

What I would change about my PHEV after 12,000km

On second thought... what I would change about my PHEV after 12,000km... I would change the female company on the passenger seat.

Will the drive battery discharge to zero if removed from the vehicle or without auy 12V?

I don't believe the traction battery will die in a few weeks if the vehicle is disabled. It will stay almost at the left level of charge for year... My old phone keep staying at 40% battery when turned of for more than a year. But better not be left fully charged or discharged. Keep it at...

‘Charge mode’ - is that bad for the battery?

When cruising in normal mode Outlander charges the battery a little and then runs for a few minutes on battery with the ice off - this repeating again and again is not because load shifting yields a better ice efficiency, but cause running on electric power is most efficient and cheaper...

Triple Procedure & Setup (Costs around 80USD)

You are destroying the battery like that. Your happiness will be short lived. Should not do only reset but an DBCAM after to measure and write down the battery actual capacity into BMU

3 Unsuccessful DBCAMs in a row + weird readings. I need your input guys, I am doing something wrong.

The guessometer is just doing simple calculation: kilometres driven to energy consumed. How the dealer returned the vehicle with 30% charge only!? Did they drive it? After DBCAM it should be 100% charged. Or they did just an reset and fool the BMU that you have a brand new battery!?

3 Unsuccessful DBCAMs in a row + weird readings. I need your input guys, I am doing something wrong.

Yea I remember when putting down battery age and mileage the software is weird and not intuitive. The fields where one input the values stays blank after hitting OK or execute (don't remember exactly) The battery age is in months odo reading in mileage. Seams you are doing it correctly and...
