You can get your PHEV to do in excess of 500 mpg, if you drive carefully, and frugally.....

No bullying mate, just facts. To paraphrase: Always, always be in Normal. When even in EV and battery is gone the consumption goes trough the roof... When asked direct question you have changed the tune... Charge, Save, EV mode... all modes apparently. The only consistent thing in your posts is...

    Use of 'jump start' terminal

At least turn the PHEV ON in ready mode so you won't drain the battery. Regarding the amp rating on that terminal, don't have idea but won't be on low side.

You can get your PHEV to do in excess of 500 mpg, if you drive carefully, and frugally.....

The deal is you made a lot of generalizations, have said thing that are wrong (self-contradictory advises), more over from the high tower of some superiority that wasn't even related to the topic. The smartness of your family should have been shown by the content of your posts not self-described...

    Outlander phev weight ratings

It is 2370kg. Mine plate has only 2370 and each axle weighs. In the range of 3500 4000 is passenger - cargo volume and maybe that's on your plate but with wrong measurement unit.

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Welcome to the real world! Your complain is the main Outlander PHEV complain in last years... engine kicking in for no reason even at above 0 temperatures. Even without the "update" up in years the vehicle gets more one will experience that engine.

    24 km range

That sounds perfectly OK and little bit different from your original statement... I quote "I have tried to switch it to "Charge", and as expected efficiency fell right through the roof. I have also tried it on "Save" mode, and again, the efficiency was not more than 99mpg. I have also tried EV...

You can get your PHEV to do in excess of 500 mpg, if you drive carefully, and frugally.....

What I am saying is that one can not compare fuel consumption with others when the length of their trips is different. The comparison should start once the battery is drained. While in conventional vehicles the length of the trip is not an factor in PHEVs it is a major one, cause inside battery...

    Canadian PHEV warranty details

There is no battery degradation warranty in Canada. It has been discuses multiple times and confirmed. Only failure battery warranty in Canada. I know of one person on facebook that manage to force them replace the battery due to degradation but don't know the details.

You can get your PHEV to do in excess of 500 mpg, if you drive carefully, and frugally.....

You omit the most important part... it is not if you drive carefully, and frugally but the length of your trips. MPG doesn't count when one drive inside battery range.

An how is your MPG once "NORMAL" runs out!? Less punitive than when EV runs out!? I am wondering now why they even put an EV mode if NORMAL is already the most economical way to run the vehicle! BTW for most efficient performance on fuel the car is designed with EV, SAVE, & CHARGE beside...

You may ask the dealer to do an DBCAM on your vehicle. That will update your SOH to it's actual state cause there is tendency battery management system to artificially lower it. You may easily gain 10% and more.

    24 km range

One can expect to last until it rust out and become non-serviceable.

    Transmission

Yes, but el. motors are not really free to rotate. Just to move the vehicle by pushing it yea, otherwise it needs power.
  16. K

    Transmission

You can't. It is an artificial neutral and power has to be supplied to el. motors to simulate it.

    Frozen Charging Port - Solutions?

Use something to cover the port and all bay area. There are special sleeves sold or you can do something by yourself. I am using big piece of foam that goes over the door and plug handle. Easier to remove the solid piece after an freezing rain event happening often in my area.

How to open the big external flap for charging? suspected flat aux battery.

Beside jump-staring the vehicle there is an access from the trunk for manual lock release. The same can be done for both charging door and gas door.

    B mode

It is in the manual. When battery is more than 60% full B3 and over will trigger the engine to act as engine break.
