Why is the level 2 charging time so slow?

Because typical application is for overnight charging, so the additional cost of the more powerful charger is not justified. AFAIK, all PHEVs out there have lower power chargers, except the top trim of the RAV4 Prime. And it is still inferior to the Outlander's Chademo, you only need to buy the...

How can I keep the charge cable from being locked on as 2023?

It's a setting that can be changed from the dashboard, read the manual.

The fuel consumption of the PHEV and how I decrease it.

Rolling resistance is proportional to weight. Not sure how big it is, but it is direct loss.

    Series mode efficiency

Wow. In fact, 15% on top of 15%, for a total loss of 27%. I had no idea it is so much more inefficient in series mode. The total loss in parallel is more like 3%, due to the loss from 2.8 to 2 kW.

    Battery mileage

It makes sense for V2H. You can use the car as a 10 kW backup generator or solar storage. I also use it to charge at work when all L2s are taken.

    Drive Battery Cooler?

First, there is no safety issue - the manual is clear that if the battery overheats, the car will stop (or have reduced power). Regarding turning the battery cooling off, my understanding is it is a trade-off between maintaining the health of the battery (by cooling it) and the comfort of the...

    Wireless bluetooth adapter for navigator

I use the https://www.amazon.com/CarlinKit-Wireless-Android-Connection-Smartphone/dp/B0BDRSC88C however cannot recommend it. It does the job but loses connection now and then, and it is type C with a very tight receptacle, not compatible with multiple cables I tried.

Should I buy a used phev or new (2023)?

I now have 1 month/1.5k miles on a 2023 SEL in moderate climate; here are answers to some of the question: 1. I have exactly 38 miles between home and work, matching the EV range rating. I consistently drive into the garage in downtown Seattle with 1 mile showing on the GoM in EV-preferred...

Cold Weather Performance - North American 2023

I can confirm cabin heating (must be a heat pump, per manual) working in EV only at -4C to -2C today (freezing rain in Seattle area). Barely raising up the cabin temperature, but once it reaches the target, maintains it without a problem. No distinguishable noise, but I am still learning the...
