Hi All,

Following a recent test drive I've just requested a PHEV as a company car.

There's a great deal to like about this car, but for me the styling seems a bit wayward with all sorts of curves and crease lines.

Looking for way to tidy up the front I came across these two front bumper additions from China. Has anyone had fitted either of them? If so, what was your view of their quality /ease of fitting?

All things being equal, I prefer the first design but I'd be interested to hear of anyone's experience of either.

Thanks, Si

hi
I've seen the ebay add as well, but my car has ACC so I'm worried that this will interfere with the radar
if you have ACC I would reconsider strapping anything on the front of the car..

Hmmm, not sure what "city crash provision" is - we have a UK spec GX4h and it doesn't have anything special in that respect...

Thanks maby,

That's reassuring to know. It would seem the 'crash provision' is a crumple zone feature. Given the above trims are thin bits of ABS, I can't seeing them compromising the vehicle too much in this respect.

I was originally looking for a suitable nudge bar (Roo bar in Oz I believe :D ) and they are not available through MM in the UK - and the Aussie companies that I contacted say that they are not allowed to ship to an end user in the UK.

This might be a good alternative - probably totally cosmetic I know, but I think the PHEV could do with beefing up a bit.

Are they still legal in UK? I thought there were concerns about pedestrian safety, which is why you rarely see them these days. I also remember that because they were fixed to the mainframe of the car, even a gentle shunt could twist it - very expensive to fix

Razman, try this: http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=outlander+bumper+2013

You may need to buy 20!

Thanks for the link Thomas :) Wow, there's loads of stuff there - admittedly some of it looks quite tacky but I like the front bumper cover

I like 'em SiG .... but not that much

Actually Mitsubishi has a very nice skid plate set. They came out this week. I'll post a photograph as soon as it stops raining.
It can be combined with the new style fog/daylight lights black, chrome ring, much better than the old type. Those I did not get as I have front bumper extenders.

I have found a nice rear one here.....

...... or how about something a bit more radical on the front?

or even 'air dams'

Interestingly enough the pic above is of the Outlander Diesel which has nice black with chrome trim fog light covers.

The PHEV has ghastly dull matt silver fog light covers and don't understand why they wouldn't have used the same as the Diesel as they would look excellent on my Black GX3h.

I have found these on eBay, all chrome, which I may consider.

For restyling the company on eBay I found for the fog lights has all their options on this site, lots of CHROME :p
